I expect the mood is generally different following a loss than after a win. Subtle but enough to affect the general tone in the audience to the point somebody may feel emboldened enough to ask a more difficult question, or to put it across more forcefully than they would otherwise.
If I were organising these things I'd always try to pick a date that followed a home game which we were likely to secure three points.
