Just completely out of touch with reality.
8,000 at ?33 per skull = ?264,000, you'd need 11,000 to get the same income at ?24 per skull.
That's how they look at it, they know they'll get at least 8,000 even at ?33 but there's risk that they might not get many more than that if the price was reduced, especially given the day and time of kick off with the TV coverage. If they reduced to ?26 and only 9,500 were to turn up they'd get ?234,000 which they'd consider a ?30,000 loss.
It's about income, not fans.
In my opinion it is crazy and an ill thought out decision especially with season tickets not being valid for this game and the two previous home games being against Rangers and Celtic which also cost ?33 per game (?56 for the special 2 games deal) for adult non season ticket holders.
The Dundee Football Club managing director seems to be out of touch with reality.
Bob Hynd previously told us at a Dee4life board of directors meeting in 2018 that the management of Dundee Football Club had decided to make the ticket prices dearer for the home games against Rangers and Celtic compared to Category A games as the Rangers and Celtic sections for their supporters were always sold out. Charging ?4 extra for the price of an adult ticket would raise an extra ?17,600 for each home game compared to them being charged a Category A price.
I said to Bob Hynd that this was unfair on the Dundee FC non season ticket holders who also had to pay an inflated price of ?30 per ticket for the home league games against Rangers and Celtic.
Bob replied that the a maximum number of 258 people had ever purchased an adult ticket in the home stands for a home league game against Rangers and Celtic.
I also told Bob that the Rangers and Celtic supporters might realise that they were being fleeced by the management of Dundee Football Club and decide to give an away game at Dens Park a miss.
Bob Hynd did not think this would happen but it did.
There was a home league game against Celtic in early 2019 which was televised live on SKY Sports when only 3,200 Celtic supporters attended the game at Dens Park compared to the usual sellout 4.400 supporters.
3,200 at ?30 raised ?96,000 whereas 4,400 at the ?26 price for Category A games would have raised ?114,400.
This comment by Bob Hynd gave me the impression that John Nelms was only interested in season ticket holders and he had no interest in Dundee FC supporters who did not have a season ticket.
This was before the gimmicky two games deal including a home game against either Rangers or Celtic which are sometimes televised live on SKY was introduced.
Something has gone wrong with Footymad as you can no longer post the Pound sign on a topic.
It makes posts more difficult to read.
Is this the way it works.
Both teams have to agree on price or goes to " normal " prices?
Be interesting to know if both wanted ?33 or just one club.
50/50 if I go but as I'm already going to st m, st j will now be out if I go to cup game....as per no going to Ibrox.
Rangers and Celtic supporters and their supporters clubs always take up their allocation because it they don't they fall down the pecking order for getting tickets at other grounds through their fans allocation system. At times some of the supporters clubs end up with more tickets than required but take them anyway and that is why at times you see supporters at Dens, outside the away end, with a fistful of tickets trying to sell for the actual price of even less. On the other hand if a title decider ends up being at Dens that is when the tickets become like gold dust and the orcs end up buying home end STs or match tickets to get in.
Far too expensive, but both clubs have to agree.
Original poster has admitted previously buying tickets that he wasn’t entitled to. So will probably attend with a concession ticket.
IDB is a complete rocket who has been slagging DFC, Nelms etc, and stated that due to his hatred of Nelms he would like to see DFC go bankrupt.
Complete rockets.
