something we have never won, but it was great to see 3 Burnley ex's win it against an invincible 'Pool. They should have been 4 or 5 up before liverpool got one back. Well done Eddie, how did you do it?

Glad to see a change in trophy winners and well deserved too. Trippier, now 34 was an inspirational captain and had a great game. Liverpool looked tired whereas Newcastle were definitely up for it. Congratulations to EH.
IMHO Newcastle wanted to win this game a lot more than Liverpool did, an opinion exemplified by the magnificent performance of Joe Linton.
Liverpool are not the team people thought they were. Lost a final, out of the fa cup and the champions league, imo it shows the managers lack of experience in game management
JUst a note on this because Tripps is no longer captain, he was replaced by Bruno Guimaraes as captain in August 2024 because of uncertainty as to whether Tripps would be staying at Newcastle. I thought that it was very sporting of Bruno to ensure that Tripps went up with him for the Trophy. All is extremely well in Geordieland and we seem to have quite a number of 'sick' personnel today. XD
[QUOTE=sinkov;40676645]He's managed in 250 games at the top level in England and Holland, how can he be lacking in game management experience
The Premier league is a different beast than the Dutch league. The likes of Pep, klop and Fergi wouldn't have thrown 1 major and 2 domestics away like this fella, due to his lack of experience at the highest level.
His end of season report will read. Well done but room for improvement
