When I first started going I would stand at the end United were attacking then change ends at half time. What a laugh when the HT scoreboard boy made a mistake. See when he picked up a zero for the Fun away, always raised a cheer.
Occasionally just for a change I'd stand at the corner beside the Shed, liked the view from there.
Watched the first Barca game from high up on the north terracing, what a great view from up there. If I went with my old man that's where we would go, but otherwise it was in the Shed.
Started on the Cliff we my dad and uncle, (bevvy allowed) pretty high up, not even at school then. Shedboy in my t e e n s , Changed ends aswell for some games. GFU now, and pretty close to where my dad and uncle stood I would guess, as we still go out the same doors that lead straight on to Sandeman Street.
I was mostly in the Seggy but occasionally in the Shed. Post reconstruction I was mostly in the ETU but then had to go to the disabled section in the ETL. However, after the **** show of Rapid Vienna when folk were standing in the disabled section and I couldn't see bugger all, I'm now in the Dode lower, Shed end.
Started off in the JK. Then remember being in the standing bit in front of the JK. Fair play enclosure then the Shed. Upper tier of GF, lower tier of ET.
Shed was by far the best for me, atmosphere was brilliant.
First went aged about 6-8 when father based at leuchars. He was a ref at the time and still there was nothing wrong with either a climb over the barrier or to crawl under.
What changed days.
