Sorry zone 7 is outdoors back
Sounds like a Grinder encounter....
Started here, outside front done whilst all dec's now out of loft and being checked if OK. Some new ones been purchased.
Unfortunately, a dampener has been put on things as I've just lost my beloved brother at age 83. He lost his better half, my dear SIL, in tragic circumstances some years ago and never really got over it. He had wonderful support from his 3 children (who have missed their mum terribly) but still found day to day living difficult. Hope he is at peace now.
I plan to carry on putting stuff up tomoz with 3 trees waiting to be sorted. Hopefully will lift the mood when done.
Know the feeling Mac - I lost my brother a couple of years back at just 64, one moment here and seemingly fine but with a few historic problems, next minute gone. The first Christmas after is worst because it emphasises family time. This year will be first Xmas without my Mum: not really looking forward to it to be honest, will be more a time for reflection rather than celebration.
Sorry to hear that Geoff, 64 much too young. My dear mum was only 62 and still sorely missed so understand your sadness to lose both you brother and mum. Agree will be a time for reflection, it's strange how losing my bro has brought back so many memories (generally good), nice to know I can still recall my formative years. Different times but happy times.
Sad to hear that, mac. You seem to have had more than your fair share in recent times. All I can say is, remember the good times, but you know that already. Condolences…and thoughts are with you.
As for Christmas. Each to their own, but it’s still nearly six weeks away, I’ll think about it in another three!
Thanks rA.
It's noticeable when we walk the dogs how many houses are already displaying dec's. What with Xmas trees in windows and outside displays (including one huge lit up Santa) it seems many are on show early this year. It does cheer things up now the gloomy dark nights have arrived.
I don't put up as many as I used to when the kids were little but I still like to put on a display from early December and I start earlier now because the old bones means it takes me forever!
I was in Florida in late November/early Dec. a few years ago and it’s surreal. The days are short but it’s still beach weather so you come off the beach at around 4.00 pm to return to a world full of inflatable Santas and Christmas/Thanksgiving illuminations.
Imagine the tackiest most OTT British decorations, often with added audio, multiply by 5 and then factor in shorts and flip flops. Bizarre!
