Tranmere
Okay, I'll start this one. Tranmere is a place we haven't won at for a long time. I haven't been for a while as the ground is not easy to get to despite the geographical closeness. We now have a possible 12 injuries and a possible bench that will include youth team players. The main weakness remains, as ever, at the back. Unfortunately Finney will have to turn out at RB again. Let's hope he supports O'Reilly better than he did on Wednesday. As for the former, maybe he should have spells on the left as his double turns and coming in on his left is becoming predictable. Also he needs to release the ball much sooner and preferably to a red shirt. I assume Lunt will replace Thomas although his best position is in the 10 slot. March will probably start there instead. So Rankine or Agius. The former started off well against Newport but then they doubled/tripled up on him, which considering Newport were a man down should have left huge holes to be exploited but..... Another annoying detail about Rankine on Wednesday was that, except for one overlap by Hutchinson, noone performed a diverting run to help him out.
Anyway, all things considered, I can't the Alex getting anything out of a resurgent Tranmere. However, with mutterings growing again about Bell's tenure, they'll probably hold on to a draw!
3-1 defeatl

Cannot see anything but a defeat. LB has already got the excuses ready and of course neither he or his assistant manager will be reponsible.
If you analysed our club from a business mans point of view the response undoubtedly would be "a Club in complete disarray that is in crisis from top to bottom".

Play Finney at RB oh please no. Completely unnecessary. Play Crocker at CB and move Billington to RB.
-
Have you seen the line up??? Only 3 defenders included. I assume Agius is being pushed back to RB. There are 3 strikers: Thibaut, March and Tezgel. Booth dropped! If anything comes of this line-up then Bell is a genius. More likely to be a catastrophe!!
Maybe my 3-1 defeat is too optimistic.

BBC think we're playing 3 at the back and 4 in front of them - but could be Agius as RB of course and they haven't worked it out. They also assume Tranmere playing 3-4-1-2, so maybe guessing a matchup. No Finney, but Mingi in squad despite seeming hurt on Wednesday, and Powell on bench.

As has been said above, attacking line up which I imagine will produce goals. Fundamentally we?re weak at the back at the best of times so I think it will be a Tranmere win 3?2. We will get out scored because of that weakness. Surprised Booth dropped but willing to be open minded about that because you have to question how well Booth Marshalls the defence perhaps. Let?s see but I would be predicting a loss here, hope to be wrong.

BBC now adjusted us to 4-2-3-1,with Agius RB. According to them Tezgel is playing behind Thibaut!
-
Will someone tell McGarry that Thibaut's name is NOT Andrew. Mind you he doesn't know that the Crewe are NOT Alexander.
-
Well 4-0 up! So what do I know???
But who cares!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well, I got that completely wrong! Tranmere went ultra hoofball and the Alex, for the most part, tried to play football. MOTM for another outstanding display, Sanders must be given an improved contract, NOW. Thought Agius had a good game at RB. Credit also has to be given to Thibaut and March for the hard running and causing constant nuisance. O'Reilly continues to rack up assists in addition to his goal.
I have to have a moan about the own goal. With the first clearance some of the Alex players started to squeeze up against the next lump into the box BUT it was Connolly who insisted that the back line stayed where they were. Had they squeezed up, the ball into the box into the box would have been harmless and Connolly would not have embarrassed himself and spoilt the possible clean sheet.
Anyway, please, please don't let it all fall flat next Friday.!!
