Barca for me - just for the joy of playing them again, plus we owe them.
However, I think Chelski would be easier to beat.
Romantic fixture is Barcelona. They are beatable at SJP, however, best case scenario - NUFC 3 - 0 Barca probably wouldn't be enough in the Camp Nou. Barcelona have the capacity to annihilate opponents in Catalunya.
In recent years Stamford Bridge has been a reasonably happy hunting ground for Eddie Howe's Magz. Whilst Chelski hate playing as SJP.
I'd rather go through against Chelsea than go out against BCN.
Better the devil you know, Give me Chelsea, Over 2 legs the lads can beat them and get through to the Quarter finals.
In the last 8, ideal world a tie against Spurs would be delightful.
Beating Chelsea and Spurs would see the Toon Army roll into the Semi-Finals and become one of the best 4 clubs in European football.
Yep. This for me.
Barca is the heart speaking-you want to qualify for the Champions League for exactly this sort of game. But, Chelsea are more beatable.
Even just getting to the quarter finals would be an immense achievement in any season but after the way we've played for a lot of this season it would be incredible.
The financial incentive of getting to the QFs is why I would want Chelsea.
In the QFs Athletico Madrid would be the 'heart' choice. Going toe to toe with Simone's men at that stage would be awesome.
However, with the prospect of making a Semi-Final Spurs would be the 'head' choice.
The exotic v the domestic competition is always a trade off.
Reaching the QFs will provide the major revenue bump. Anything after that is a bonus.
Would be class to beat Athletico Madrid in the QFs.
I just don't want to face the Bin Dippers, hopefully they get dumped out of the competition before NUFC. Getting drawn against them we all know what that the Rat will come back to fitness and score the loathsome traitor.
Barcelona confirmed,
As soon as I heard, my instant reaction was 'get in' so I guess that tells me how I feel about it. 😁
We didn't come into the Champions League to play Chelsea twice.
Bring it on.
Barcelona under the St. James' lights sounds fantastic to me, the crowd would be champing at the bit. >:)
The cynic in me did think it would be fixed in some way so more prem teams played each other.
If things went really well for prem you could end up with 5 of the last 8 being prem teams.
