Offrande Zanzala signs

There's something I never expected to write!

O/S "Crewe Alexandra are delighted to confirm the signing of centre forward Offrande Zanzala.

The forward joins the club on an intial one-year-deal after leaving Accrington Stanley this summer.

The Congolese born began his career at Derby before making loan switches to Stevenage, Chester and Accrington Stanley who later signed for.

Everyone connected with the club would like to wish Offrande all the best for the upcoming season.

You can expect more from the young striker soon."

I guess this is a Chuma replacement as cover for Ports, if he signs ...

Scored 8 for Stanley, but not retained when season ended "needs to play regularly". Only a one year contract so we're not committing any big money i assume.

Rather than 'not retained', didn't he decide not to sign. Or would that have meant a fee?

Their web site says he was released not that he turned down an offer.

I didn't know much about Offrande Zanzala. He looks Ok from the YouTube highlights for what that is worth. Certainly more pace than Porter.

What the clips do show is somebody confident on the ball in finishing situations as well as someone who can break with speed. Perhaps a change in tactical line-ups is on the cards.
