Charlton struggle to muster a shot on target as they earn a point in a goalless draw against the Black Cats. Sunderland are early season pace setters in 4th and Charlton are at 14th. Ben Amos deserves plaudits for keeping a clean sheet and with it the draw. Flanagan was sent off on the 73rd minute for a foul on Washington but the Add1cks were unable to make the 1 man advantage count. With the takeover confirmed, there is hope new players can be added to strengthen the squad before the transfer deadline.
