Experienced and much travelled Colin Calderwood is reported to have left Northampton for a coaching role at the Swans.
He was a renowned centre-half and had 36 caps playing for Scotland and 150 games for Spurs amongst others.
Martin knows him from his assistant manager role to Chris Hughton at Norwich.
He will bring much needed defensive coaching nous to our players, who’d conceded far too many goals last season.
It’s June 10, the transfer window is open, and already we’ve made two signings, both centre-backs.
Nathan Wood a pacey 20 year old from Middlesborough on a two year deal. He was surplus to requirements of manager Chris Wilder there and was unable to oust Sol Bamba for a first team place last season.
The other signing is from Braintree Town of the sixth tier National League South, 22 year old Wasiri Williams, on an initial one year deal.
“Nathan is a player I have wanted for two years now, I have been close to signing him a few times when I was at MK Dons”

Reported to be a right sided centre-back, which is Ben Cabango’s preferred position.
So, we’ve now signed three centre-backs -
20 year-old,1.83m, centre-back, Nathan Wood from Middlesborough, undisclosed fee.
22 year-old, 1.85m, Wasiri Williams from Braintree Town, undisclosed fee.
22 year old, 1.88m, Harry Darling from MK Dons, undisclosed fee.
A weakness last season, hopefully this appointment will solve it -

Here’s another one, a wing-back this time

Plays left or right wing-back, looks a bit frail to me, we’ll see.
Things are shaping up nicely boys, and only Yan Dhanda gone to Ross County so far, but I fear we’re going to lose at least one of our star players before the window is out.
