After last night's hammering by Chelsea, you can understand why Everton are desperate to have their appeal date brought forward as a matter of urgency. I think they should stick 4 more points on for having the cheek to appeal over a rule they clearly broke.

Unfortunately although the rules are clear the penalties for breaking them are, mostly, not defined. Going into admin is defined - 12 points. So the system is a mess. Although, even when the punishment has been clearly set out we still get appeals and slaps on the wrist eg QPR several years ago. Stinks
Everton have now stood down and will no longer challenge their last points deduction. Very wise if you ask me, they are safe anyway so why chase it and risk having it reviewed with a chance of having it increased.

Any rule breaking needs the obligatory - 12 points. - 6 for less serious offences.
I agree that admin is defined and is clear - though often this impacts the new owners of a club and not the existing ones further compounding a bad year or two ahead.
