Lose the ball and we give them the freedom of the park. Absoulutely ridiculous. For the 2nd game running, the changes weren't rung until the 69th minute. Why so late when we haven't been in the game? It wasn't all bad. Despite us not pressing, apart from the goal, they never looked like scoring. On the other hand, neither did we aside from 2 instances where, more by luck than judgment, a player got the ball in a position to shoot. Clarke dropped on the ball close in but the keeper was already going down on the ball and was maybe a foot off it and one from Knight who maybe should have scored a goal we didn't really deserve.
The ref? Awful. 1st minute, CKR held and fell, nothing given. 2nd minute he does less and gets a foul given against him. 3rd minute he barges and a free kick is rightly given against him. One of the few things the ref got right. 5th minute, Roberts tries to go between 2 players in the box, loses the ball turns to go after the man with the ball, the other player blocks him off by raising his left leg 90 degrees. It's then down to the ref what happens next. In this case nothing happened and that was 100% wrong. The weakest of refs might have gone for the indirect free kick for obstruction and just about got away with it. A half decent ref would give the penalty. Some 10 minutes later, Roberts was unceremoniously dumped flat on his back. Nowt given. In the majority of the opening 25 minutes prior to my losing interest in the ref, I had counted half a dozen free kicks we should have got and didn't and they got 4 that were less of a free kick than the ones we didn't get. Looks like, after a very short hiatus, we're back to getting the crap refs.
