Think that's the point of offering a new contract now. There must be quite a few others in the offing as well.
In the past the club and players did this . if the player was then sold his contract had to be paid up so the player pockets that money plus a signing on fee so he comfortably makes a decent amount of money after being on a lot lower wage at our club.
