U.K. Must Make Itself less Economically Attractive

So the French say this about Migrants! Whilst there’s no love for the French they are right! Would all these illegals come if:

Turned around to the first point of entry as also agreed by the Dutch?

No monetary benefits whatsoever apart from food in barracks whilst they are processed/turned around!

Immediate deportation for any illegals found who have evaded processing or their application has been rejected.

Immediate deportation for black market work as well as any U.K. employer/s heavily fined.

Where’s there’s honey the bees will keep coming! In this instance - I have to agree with the French. For sure they would not get the red carpet in France or Spain as they do here!

In summary we are far too soft! You let in 1000 and then 100000 or more want to get in!

These people get no better benefits here than they do in France or Spain. So why do they come here? What Macron talks about is the job market in Britain is advantageous. We have almost 1 million job vacancies and only about one third of that number seeking work on job-seekers allowance. We've lost over 250k EU nationals since Brexit, almost all of them of working age. I said this throughout the referendum and immediate aftermath by the way, I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon now.

So in effect, if you voted for Brexit, you are making this country more appealing to Non-EU immigrants who want to come here because there are more job vacancies available for them.

The irony, right...

Its just another Brexit dividend, another Brexit win.

Both the covid pandemic and Brexit have undoubtedly affected the UK in terms of both migration and immigration. It is always difficult to get accurate figures because so much depends on the data used. As an example, some estimates put migration at 1.3 million whereas others suggest it is more likely that about half that figure left the UK in 2020. The vast majority of these were foreign nationals of working age. The Office for National Statistics website has quite detailed analysis of immigration for anyone who would like to look and again it is not as straightforward as some may think but the data seems to put a lie to much of the exaggerated reports in the more right wing press regarding the number of illegal immigrants we accept. Overall, the trend on immigration is also down on previous years however, again primarily because of both the pandemic and Brexit.

But you can't get a visa to work in the UK unless you meet quite stringent threshold, i.e. shortage occupation, salary requirements etc.. It's illegal to not perform right to work checks and employ illegal immigrants.

So those non-EU migrants wouldn't be able to work in the 1 million UK vacancies and if they do work, it would be in unregulated work, cash in hand jobs. Non-EU migrants aren't flocking here at the thought of working in these type of jobs.

On the contrary, I think they are. There is nothing more a Non-EU migrant who shouldn't be there would want on arrival into this country than cash in hand work.

And there is probably is a fair bit about at the moment, particularly in agriculture.

In the long term, once they get some documents and foundations in the country, then they would be interested in those regulated jobs you talk about. And we urgently need them to fill the void left by EU workers.
