God or bad appointment if it happens
After Nelms saying mcpake was like a son to him while touting his job to all and sundry, it would just be a matter of time till wee Gordon would have to top that by sacking his actual son.....
Apart from that, the last appointment was lazy, and didn't work. This one would look even lazier, and with someone with no real experience.
It might get a lot of publicity, with 3 generations of strachan at the club at the same time, but I think they have to get it right this time, and gambling on an inexperienced manager seems reckless.
If it is him then I hope the gamble works and we skoosh the league, but not sure it will get many taking advantage of the "tremendous loyalty offer", other than those who were always buying a ST anyway....
i have heard from a good few sources that the new manager will be JACK ROSS, but i wont be buying a season ticket on hearsay.
According to the Raith Rovers FC website the manager’s job as a result of John McGlynn leaving to become manager of Falkirk FC was advertised with a closing date.
That way only people who are interested in the job apply instead of all the newspaper and social media talk we have had regarding the next Dundee FC manager.
You think?I would have thought the advert might just attract the dafties who play football manager and think its a laugh, or Mark mcghee..... thousands apply, but what happens if your preferred choice doesn't?
I would expect the new director of football will draw up a shortlist, the merits and demerits of each will be discussed, then John Nelms will employ whoever is cheapest....
Too bad if the preferred choice does not apply. The next best applicant should be appointed.
We seem to be a bit late appointing a Director of Football. Earlier this season I read an article with the Director of Football at Kelty Hearts who was 37 years old and he had been the Director of Football since Kelty Hearts were playing in the Lowland League.
