The club made a big deal of saying that exciting news was going to be revealed today. Doug Shulman, a commentator on radio Cambs, had an emotional 5 minutes saying he hoped it would be news of the club buying the ground back.

Amen to that. The exciting news isnt that at all, its the team saturday wearing the kit that was worn when United got into the football league. Which is a white kit with a black and amber trim.

I am old and remember that. Bill Lievers our manager wanted to have a white kit like Leeds back then, because they always won, and white was more easily seen under the floodlights which were dimmer than todays.

I wasnt taken in like Doug Shulman, though his heart is in the right place.

The truth of this football club in the last 25 years is that it will always break your heart. Always. And you havent made a sale from me. They say the shirt is a limited edition so everyone will want one.

A true Cambridge shirt is an amber shirt and black shorts, with a big black V down the middle of the shirt. Thats it.
