Although I live 200-300 miles away I was reading the Rotherham news today on our telly and came across a story about a hearse that was stranded, stuck in the snow today on its way to the crematorium. Mourning relatives were obviously upset but then local people and passers-by came to help throwing grit under the wheels and pushing before someone in a 4x4 stopped and gave it a tow to the crem where they waited till the end of the service and then helped the elderly mourners to their vehicle. It warms your cockles to be reminded how good-hearted and helpful folks from the old homeland still are. (Despite all out arguments and differences of opinion)
