Charlton release 15

15 out of contract players have now been released by Charlton including Tal Ben Haim, Roger Johnson, Lawrie Wilson, Chris Eagles and Simon Church.

Johnson and Eagles arrived on short-term deals in the last transfer window and surprisingly were deemed not to have impressed enough to be retained despite making an immediate impact on their debuts.

All efforts are being made by Guy Luzon to retain the services of key players Joe Gomez and Johann Gudmundsson, as well as drafting in up to half a dozen signings who will add steel to the team to make a genuine promotion bid next season. - view external link
