Fantastic gesture and prompt to other players to support local clubs. Imagine if all players from each club chipped in and bought one for a local club. Is there one at Parkgate Welfare? I'd like to think there was.
How about us lot chipping in and getting one installed at a local club say, Maltby/Parkgate if they don't have one. You can have a portable one that start around £850 but the top of the range that require a mains supply to keep them on charge will be far more costly.
They are not just for players but the public also and who knows when they may be called upon?

Thomas Bothamley died of a heart condition on Friday, July 8, 2016 - mirroring the tragic death of his young father, Ryan Bothamley, who was just 15 when he died of sudden adult death syndrome in 2002, before Thomas was born.
Ever since Thomas passed, his mum Keira and campaigned for awareness and raised funds for installation of numerous defibrillators locally.
She's done an absolutely fantastic job along with many of her friends and family.
Just a thought, are all top class refs trained in CPR and emergency resuscitation techniques?
Indeed. Mentioned before on here that the same happened to a member of my family about 25 years ago. He was just 18 and having a kickabout with his mates who initially thought he was just larking about and by the time the gravity of the situation was realised and 999 assistance arrived it was too late. As Grist mentioned, I'm sure a defibrillator would not have still been there or in working condition in Rosehill Park where it happened.
