Question - Have we got the full squad allowance at the club ?
If we don't have the full squad with Kayode going out, what happens to getting
free agents in, Paul Warne will have probably looked at another forward, but will
now sign any players he needs for Derby County common sense with EFL approval.
With joint intrim dug out partners Wood & Peltier, will Scott try to persuade Tony
Stewart to sign any free agents, which was thought suitable for the Millers.
Kayode on a season-long-loan at MK Dons, but we can fetch him back in January 2023
written in the loan agreement.
Piece in Derby local rag that 3 of the current Derby squad were targets of ours during the summer but chose Derby instead. Connor Hourihan, David McGoldrick and Korey Smith were all spoken to by Warne about joining us. At least 3 of his new team passed the good human being test and made it to the zoom call stage.
Derby County lost 2 players due to the takeover by Clowes Developments, Nathan Byrne & Lee Buchanan,
The players contracts were up, but the club had a option of a further 12 months on both players, Derby County
wanted to exercise the 12 month option on both players, but -
Both players exercised their rights Under the Transfer of Undertakings to leave the club, following the takeover.
Derby County were backed by the football league to extend Byrne's contract by the 12 months, but because the
club had been moved to a new company, following Clowes Development purchase it is governed by legalisation
known as the Transfer of Undertakings [Tupe].
While staff are automatically switched to the new company, employees have the right to under Tupe be told about
the transfer, & can object to the move, meaning they effectively resign.
Lee Buchanan did this & he moved to German club Werder Bremen, Derby County fighting for compensation, due
to the player being under 24 years of age.
Nathan Byrne moved to the USA & is playing for Charlotte FC.
