Scouring you tube for the secrets of life late at night, Combat! for no reason popped into my head, punched it in, and by golly there it was.

It needs no introduction to those that used to watch it. It is still good today, a sort of saving private ryan from 1963. I am watching the early episodes, but there are some colour ones. It always starts with a battle, the germans can fire shed loads of bullets and hit nothing, the Yankees only get a few shots off, and hit every time. That should get better. There is no pointless dialogue, its action all the way.

There is genuine drama and situations that are realistic. Vic morrow who starred in it died by decapitation by a helicopter blade, no health and safety back then i suppose, Rick Jason shot himself. Morrow was said to have tombstones in his eyes, you can feel his hopelessness during fighting.

I tape some of the films on the horror channel after 9pm. They all seem to be fairly recently made. They are all the same story over and over, with loud music telling you when to be scared, and constant flashing lights. There was a five minute thing on one that was just darkness.

Its all trash. Now if i could make a horror film.......I only vaguely remember the time tunnel, it sounds bad.

Every episode they land sometime in the past that's important in history or meet somebody famous,they always have to get involved and if I'm honest they both should be dead by now,im waiting for a episode where they get a day off and land in suburbia on a warm sunny day in the 20's,tomorrow they meet Billy the Kid,it's total garbage..... I shall be tuned in at 3pm
