Swansea v Luton
Luton are the visitors today, coming just a few days after our long and fruitless trip to Middlesboro. We have to pull ourselves out of this poor run of form with the games coming thick and fast. Two wins in the last six is not good enough as we slump to mid-table in the form guide, even Luton are above us and last Wednesday night they beat leaders Norwich 3-1, so no easy task today.
Our problem is well known, we do not have a natural goalscorer and a return of five goals in six matches is very poor. Well, we were aware of this at the beginning of the season and our answer was to bring in Viktor Gyokeres on loan. He has yet to score for the Swans in his eight appearances so far and I fail to see why he was brought here. He is yet to score a league goal for parent club Brighton because he couldn’t break into their first team since signing, and last season was sent out on loan to German second tier side FC St Pauli where he scored seven goals in 26 matches, hardly prolific.
