Agreed. I had hoped that a "shock" promotion to League 1 would give us better chance to retain Nev, etc. Also, more value for our academy stars to increase income for club. At least Stockport are now...

So, in other words… England won the World Cup 60 years ago and didn’t have any academies so therefore if CAFC downgrade their academy or scrap it completely then they will win promotion like they...
There are 1000s of teams around the world spending millions on academies and they are all wrong. Wasting their money. Unbelievable !!
Having a quick look at the PL squads, I would guess that over 90% of players came through a team’s academy, not necessarily the current team they are playing with. Academies work. Simple !
The current England squad is full of academy graduates. Are you saying they are not as good as National League players.
