I agree with you on both points - swap the two halves of the season around and we’d be feeling a lot more upbeat about next season. And when we needed our big players to step up, they didn’t (Macca...

I hope so, but as we’ve seen with Scott, it’s going to take a while for him to get back to his best. I’m sure the club will be nursing him back carefully, though.
It’s not quite accurate to say we didn’t turn up against the top 7 - we played well away at Stockport, Wrexham and Mansfield, but lost by the odd goal each time. Crewe (where we also could have got...
The point is if you think a season like this is a reason not to renew your season ticket, you clearly weren’t around when we were truly dire and the entertainment value was pretty much zero.
Maybe a few have grown too accustomed to us winning most of our home games over the past five seasons. I just find the “not renewing my season ticket” response rather laughable.
Macca winning the golden boot seems to have gone a little under the radar - 70 goals in two seasons really is a remarkable achievement.
I did see something on X the other day (so it must be true)...
I’m reserving judgement until we have better midfielders alongside him like a fully fit Palmer and a replacement for JOB/Bostock.
Bad news for Scunny after the money they seemed to be spending at the start of the season, including on Cal Roberts. I’m sure Fitzsimons is fed up of penalty shootouts after the last two seasons.
They’ve never expressed “buy cheap and sell on” as a club policy. Their philosophy is all about finding gems like Macca, Jodi Jones and Cal Roberts, in effect paying under the odds for quality...
Being announced on Monday. Not sure why it’s so late, but maybe there’s some marketing hook they’ll be revealing?
Why? How many boring games were there at Meadow Lane this season? If people are coming to watch Notts because they think we’re going to win every game, they should probably go and watch Man City...
I was one of the five who predicted 12th-15th and cited our dodgy defence as a likely big problem. I do think we might have finished higher if Luke Williams had stayed, but that’s football.
It’s going to take time to progress up the leagues (ask Mansfield), so why the histrionics? This season has petered out rather badly, but I trust the owners to learn from their mistakes and get us...
3-1 to Notts, Macca hat-trick. 979 Notts fans wondering what might have been without that disastrous run of home defeats.
Hope so too - I didn’t have time to visit the Frank Sidebottom statue last year.
You’d imagine quite a few games will only be available via Sky’s streaming service rather than the conventional sports channels, especially as they “promise” to broadcast all 93 Carabao Cup matches...
I finally waded through that EFL statement, and this line stood out:
“League One and League Two clubs will be live approximately 16 times per season.”
This will also include midweek games, but...
I think most on here would agree on the key players, no? JJ, Macca, Crowley, Palmer, AN, Robertson and Jatta.
JOB’s body language suggested he’s on his way - although today was probably his best performance of the season for us.
The fact that Macca was annoyed at being subbed didn’t smack of a farewell...
The description someone near me used to describe Cedwyn when he came on today was “leggy”, and that seems spot-on. He’s obviously struggling for match sharpness and we don’t know whether he can cut...
I enjoyed the game and thought we were far superior to Colchester - only criticism was that we should have won far more comfortably. Lovely to see JOB put some crunching tackles in - a classic JOB...
True, we certainly don’t do boring 0-0s very often. We know we have half a very good team, now let’s see if can sort the other half out in 2024/25.
I’d agree with those - we had much more energy in the side without Bostock and McGoldrick, and really should have put four or five past Colchester and their odious boss.
We won 12 home games and scored 51 goals - some crap performances are to be expected over the course of a season. The thing that killed us was those five consecutive defeats, otherwise we’d be in the...
I wouldn’t be surprised if Wrexham or Stockport come in for Jodi Jones - and there’s always the possibility of Swansea coming in for him, given the LW connection.
I’d be surprised if Macca goes as...
