    Cheers 123.

I’ve now booked her train tickets from Birmingham New Street to Euston and the clinic is just 1.2 miles from Euston Station.

I’ve never booked an Uber so is it easy to do once you arrive at the station or is it just worth swallowing the black cab cost for such a short journey?

Reason I ask is that my grandson’s appointment is 11.00am and she’ll have just 40 minutes to play with once she gets to Euston?

I find it easy but much depends on your daughters circumstances to a large extent.

Uber's are quick and in that area of London, you should get one within minutes. They are also considerably cheaper than black cabs, and I always tend to find them available.

Make sure you or your daughter are well versed with the app, it looks a bit confusing at first if you haven't used it before. If they're not sure about using the Uber app and the appointment time is important then perhaps its worth paying the extra cash for a black cab? But I haven't used a black cab in years.

I'd be a little concerned about traffic - in that respect it doesn't matter if its an uber or black cab. 1.2 miles can be a very long way in London traffic, and that kind of distance has taken me 2+ hours before. Having said that, 11am should be outside of rush hour so you'd expect it to be fine...but I trust London traffic about as much as our former Chinese chairman.

Another option would be to jump on the Victoria Line to Oxford Circus, but its still around half a mile walk from there. Again if your daughter is uncomfortable with the tube or the walk (it will probably be a bit manic), then it's likely better getting an uber/black cab.

On another note, I wouldn't book an Uber on her behalf. I've never done that, but the whole point of the technology is that you can see where the Uber is on your phone, and your daughter being on the ground will be able to see it compared to local roads/landmarks etc. I'd ask your daughter to book the Uber on her phone when she gets off the train and is about to exit the station.

I wouldn't want to be the person in the middle from another location directing taxi driver and daughter where to meet each other. But as I say, I've never done that before. It might be a doddle or it might be painful.

If worst comes to worst, there should be loads of black cabs outside Euston she should be able to hop into.

There is a large underground car park at Cavendish Square - I tend to use that if I am driving to that area. You will need to take a second mortgage out for the privilege - but you can probably get your car washed for £50 while it’s in the car park.

Like Al says .. best to use the train, underground and taxis for London trips … takes the stress out … also the new Elizabeth Line is actually pretty good if you are going West to East (or vv).

My wife and daughter took young Leo down by train on Thursday and got a black can for a tenner each way to Harley Street.

Good advice lads so thank you all.
