I don’t think that we are a sh1t team, or that our players are sh1t. It’s just that so many of our players are not good enough to help the Club to the next level.


The remit for our present and potential future defenders seems to be centred on going forward, with little requirement for actual defending.


The No 10 role has no end product. Do we need a different player at No10?


Wide men pass back and do not try to take their man on.


Our strikers with very little service, desperately snatch and scuff at any chances.


Set piece delivery, aiming for and hitting the first man’s ankle.


Proper RB, Konsa RCB, Rogers out wide, Barkley and Onana pivot, Youri at 10. Either Striker will get chances.

I like Barkley and when fit would like him to start more games, I'm not convinced by Onana (yet), Youri is playing very well in his current position - is Rogers a wide player or just the best of what we've got?

Would it not suit to try Ollie out wide and get Duran more involved, he is a very good player - McGinn further forward?

Konsa - all day long RCB, stick Maatsen wide left and pick one of Bogarde or Nedjelkovic as RB - there are possibilities.

Yes we are not a sh1t team, but the goals have dried up and we look easy to play against.

Im wondering if we should have a little bit of a strategic change as we are leaking a few, how about konsa pau and mings in a 3 with the full backs being more wingbacks and slotting in for a 5 in defensive periods whilst supporting our attacking play the rest of the time? it would potentially allow us to do without Bailey who is for whattever reason currently back to being the manfanny he was 2 seasons ago, with kamara onana and youri central mid plus any three from the attacking group based on their current form/who we are playing, thoughts??

Last time we tried 5 at the back was under Deano, it was quickly canned after a heavy defeat - do we have a proper right wing-back who can cross a ball? It also only leaves us Carlos if any of the 3 get injured although Kamara can play there.

Out of Cash, Kosta and Bogarde I like the look of Bogarde the most provided the right player can go in front of him, Ramsey would be my pick there. I dunno!

Good points OSV. Kosta and Matteson/Digne are all better going forward than positional full-back play. They all have the athleticism for the wing-back role.
We have plenty of choice in midfield.
I can’t see it happening though. Unai has built his wonderful career success rate using his methods and tactics, so fair play to him, I suppose.
