I’ve just watched the Red TV highlights, and only then discovered that among the Spartans’ subs was Hamish Ritchie, who I voted for as Keith’s player of the year when he was 17.

We’d signed him when the Dons freed him and he was digging in for us, and dominating battle-hardened opposition destroyers as if he had a decade of experience behind him. Janis Ian must have had him in mind when she wrote the title of her hit.
