Nombe- Spoke to him after the game. Collided with James in training and was concussed so left out as a precaution.
Spence - He has blisters from all the running. They can be sore and take days to heal. Maybe his footwear or just not use to all that running in training.
Kelly - Swelling on his knee but nothing serious and due back in training asap.

Impressed by James Clarke. Big lad, not afraid to get stuck in. Fast, good foot control and places a ball well. Good corner taker and seems to place them hard and well away from a keeper. Powell you're sacked from taking these if you're both on the pitch at the same time .

McGuckin seems to have put some muscle on and was a handful for Parkgate, whether he can deliver that against League opposition remains to be seen.

One other player who caught my eye playing right wing second half, was the slightly built young black lad with the neat perm. Very fast and takes players on very well with an electric burst of speed.

Can see us having a very good academy of players that may well break through to our fist team in the next 1-2 years. When was the last time we could say that?

Of course it was only a pre season knockabout against lower ranked opponents but I thought Joe Powell showed how good a player he is.

Reading that about McGuckin reminds me of a young Hammy. He had been to Toulon with England for a few weeks. When he got back they had had him on a rich diet and he'd put on a good stone. It wasn't muscle though

Should see him now Talk about getting team fit, he needs to join in for a lad carrying all that carriage at such a young age.

Known Matt since he was. 13 year old, top lad if he reads this he'll laugh it off and tell me to bolox
