My first game was 78/79 season and I'm certain it was a pound in the North Bank. I may be totally wrong but I've got that figure in my head. Pound notes then, not coins
Ticket Pricing from 1981:
Is the above a true reflection of prices as i wasn't going to Wolves games in those days?

So the above prices don't seem too far off going on what you seem to remember paying.Originally Posted by Newcy Wolf

Don't quote me on it, some of the older lot on here would give a more accurate answer.
My uncle used to take me as a kid, he paid.
Looking at it, a rise of 33% in two seasons would appear "crazy" if that what the headline is suggesting.
That season 78/79 was first one Where I started going on my own I'm sure as a junior you could get in for 75p, (North Bank) full adult price at that time would have been a Quid.Originally Posted by Newcy Wolf
Just found a couple of tickets in my office:-

I'm with you on that one, I may well be wrong. I have a distant memory of the prices at Molineux at the time being on what looked like a small black chalk board, the prices written in white (but painted, not chalk )
After doing a bit of research, it seems the average yearly wage in 1981 was £7000. A season ticket at £48 was 0.68% of that average salary.
With today's average salary and using an average price for a season ticket at Wolves, the figure is approx. 1.57% of the salary.
Basically the price has doubled to watch f
They weren't chalk boards mate they were usually a section of brickwork painted black with the Matchday price pretty crudely painted in White
You could still see them on the entrances to the turnstiles on the entrance to the South Bank/Waterloo Road paddock before the redevelopment .
Just found this little beauty.
Way before 1981, anyone have an idea as to when? My knowledge of "old" money is cr@p.
