Wolves 2 Brighton 0

Wolves host Brighton in the next round of the FAC. Not the easiest matchup and they've had our number the past few seasons. But the 0-0 draw in our last matchup was much improved from the previous thrashings. Let's hope we take the next step. I expect some squad rotation, but we are not deep by any means, particularly in the attack.

Four FA Cup matches last night but if you followed the BBC sports pages you would have thought there were only three. We hardly had a mention. And what's with the Cup draw being made before four of the games have been played? As it happens we have a home draw and a good Championship side to beat, before a possible trip to Wembley.
A very early goal last evening enabled us to put the shutters up and display an excellent defensive exercise. A young Brighton side had lots of possession, hundreds of passes but no cutting edge. Plenty of moans about the selected Wolves team before kick off, but in the end it was good enough to complete the job.
Santiago Bueno stepping in for the rested Dawson had a very good game. The Uruguay International always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, and will surely take over from Dawson at some point in the future. Doherty who was restored to the starting eleven, allowing Semedo to have a rest, also did well winning almost every headed contest. Gomez and Doyle both played well, covering almost every inch of the immaculate Molineux pitch. Us older guys can remember a Wolves pitch in February from yeas ago.
The game last evening, did not see us at out exciting best, but a very short turn around with another match only days away may cause us problems with injuries. The small squad is starting to look very thin. Hwang last night looked knackered and Lemina took a couple of heavy knocks, before being forced off.
Having been critical recently about teams wasting time, it was disappointing to see us using these tactic's. Sa who was a passenger for most of the game, was rightly shown a yellow for delaying a goal kick. The referee last night, the one who took control of the Cup game at Liverpool when VAR didn't work, had a decent game last night, taking no lip from the moaning visiting players especially Dunk.
Very little recovery time before the four hour trip to Newcastle. The Geordies will be up for this in order to get their season back on track. Howe not even the best placed English manager in the Premier League now. A certain Mr O'Neil has that honour.
quick summary from me.. wulfies scored after 2 minutes then hung on for 88 minutes.
sorry to see hwang being injured , but to be honest he was shite up to that point.
doyle given m. o .m ..to me ait-nouri should have been given the award
just saying
Greavsey, I don't disagree with you re Ait Nouri. He pops up everywhere and is close control is superb. He really has come on since the arrival of O'Neil.
