    the arbitration panel

    Im confused.
    1) who were they?
    2) what were there terms of reference?
    3) what powers (delegated or not ) did they have?
    4) has ever such panel been assembled before?

When we mentioned going to the High Court this panel was formed within 24 hours. So somebody's cage was rattled

Something stinks about the whole process.

Just about sums up football these day. The corruption that must have gone on to give the 2022 to Quatar the fly blown country where no one seems to know(or make a decision) whether it will be played in the winter or summer

    the arbitration panel
    Im confused.
    1) who were they?

one person appointed by WHU, one person appointed by Swansea, plus ANO who both clubs agree is acceptable as an arbiter, usually an experienced manager or referee (in this case it was probably an ex ref or one of the senior referee assessors)

    2) what were there terms of reference? the terms of reference would have been something along the lines of was the decision a gross misjudgement by the referee or not. It would not take into account Flores dodgy diving. An example of something that would have been turned over was Laurent Blanc sending off in the 1998 World Cup semi final when Slaven Bilic went down pretending to have been hit by LB. Video evidence shows that there was no contact what so ever, hence gross error in that the referee thought something happened that didn't. In this case Carrol raised arm hit Flores on the head, the fact that the blow wouldn't have knocked over my four year old grandson, unfortunately doesn't come

True. But if the respective associations of the major footballing countries were to collectively say "Sorry, but playing a tournament in Qatar isn't practical and we won't be taking part in this World Cup", how long do you think it would be before the venue was switched?

No one is forced to take part in World Cups and imo it would only take one major national association to say "Bollox" and I'm sure the rest would follow.

Unfortunately they're probably all as incompetent and lily livered as our own patheic association.

Agreed. The problem the FA have is that they have no real power in running this countries football apart from having the vote on FIFA and EUFA matters, the Premier League have all the power. All of the other major associations are jealous of the success of the Premier, so out of spite they wouldn't support a stand made by the FA.

I agree one of the other big four need to do it, but they won't; as their associations all cosy up to Sepp Blubber and Mikey Platypus.

The only league who might have a go, are the Dutch in my opinion. The Dutch are brought up to be 'critical' thinkers from birth, in the same way that the Germans are brought up to 'analytical' and we are brought up to be 'free' thinkers. These thought processes explain why Dutch footballers often fall out with their team mates and more often than not foreign managers (Stam/Fergie).

I don't think the other associations cosy up to FIFA any more than our lot do tbh.
