    40 years ago this weekend

I'm too young to remember this one, but no doubt many on here were there and celebrated the 2-1 league cup win over Man.City. - view external link

It is one of my lifes regrets not to have seen the Wolves at Wembley. Despite going to all the games, home and away, in the 1960 Cup win I couldn't get a ticket for the final. I think I was working overseas for the leauge cup games. Bu gger!!

Never mind maybe I can watch us in the championship playoff final next year. ;-D

As I said I missed that one but I still have a huge stock of great memories to draw on from the late fifties thru the late seventies.

That was probably the best team Man City ever had (including the current crop). 12 months before that we had whopped them 5-1. Great days!

I remember back in the sixties [?] we beat them 5-1 at Maine Road. It was when Dennis Law was still with them. I nearly got beat up in the bus queue after the game for taking the pi$$.

I was there and I knew we were going to win. I didn't think we would leave it that late though!

Great day out with us as the underdogs as Man City had a vastly so called better team. If you can get it good centre page spread in Saturdays Express and Star and match report with loads of photos.
