Lee - he will be
West Ham United could be on the verge of losing another promising youngster from their ranks as Elliot Lee has yet to sign an extension to his contract which expires this summer.
Lee, 19, is regarded as one of the club's best prospects and has scored eight goals in 13 games for the Under-21s this season, but negotiations over a new deal have stalled.
Were the situation continue to go unresolved he could depart West Ham in the same manner as Rob Hall, who moved to Bolton Wanderers last July with the Professional Football Compensation Committee setting a A£450,000 fee.
IMO..It is as he was never given a fair chance when we were playing with no forwards. If you're good enough then age doesn't come into it and he is good enough from what I've seen.
Even if he just does a Sears, at least he has been given a chance.

Sam is at fault for most things including the impending war on Europe's door step.
As for Lee, I would have thought he might have got a chance in the 1st team when we had no strikers bearing in mind he was banging in goals for our top of the league U21's. I always thought it strange that Allardyce left out our best three young players against Forest and played the mediocre youth players in a formation that neither the 1st, 2nd or youth team are accustomed to using.
Is Lee good enough? F.ucked if I know but the odd appearance ahead of Maiga would surely have been some sort of indication.
Whisky will be on later talking about Rob Hall & Ray Houghton and he'll probably be right but if my son was given a choice between West Ham and pretty much anyone else I know what I would do. Sam doesn't do youth be it lads from the academy or even buying other peoples talented youngsters . At Bolton, Blackburn, West Ham & Newcastle I can only think of Phil Jones (a defender) . . . . . . don't t
Sam is on a contract which I guess he doesnt expect to extend into the New Stadium era.
Therefore he wont be interested in developing youngsters for the future,at the expense of proven players, with the risk of prejudicing his "Never knowingly relegated" boast.
I would guess Tony Carr has a significant input into a players first team potential and, as I've mentioned before, we've only really dropped one ricket during his time at the club----Ray Houghton. Thanks for the cue Bonzo![]()
Time will tell if Hall and Lee will go on to have the type of glittering career Houghton did. More likely they'll go the same way as Kyel Reid, Cristian Montano, Zavon Hines, Jordan Spence and all the other hopefuls who didn't have what it takes to make it at the top level.
One mistake in all those years ain't a bad record imo.
Have to agree with Bonzo's point about giving Lee a shout ahead of Maiga or even playing him as a striker instead of the 4-6-0 a few weeks back.
Dont think sam's the only problem with the youth. like whiskey says i think tony carr would have some input into whether or not a players good enough. dont think were getting the cream of youngsters these days. ffs our youth team lost bto accrington this year. bloody accrington ffs. i dread the day tony carr hangs up his boots.
