    It's a worry

Forgetting the last two poor results, despite amassing the points and goals we have , I have yet to see us really dominate a game and coming away from a match thinking, that was a really good 90 mins of football from Wolves.
So the worry is if we don't make the top two,can we survive the playoffs? This is not being negative it's being realistic and the Sheff U and Leyton matches could answer whether we have the balls.

I was looking through the match-by-match results of seasons past the other day and was noticing that there were quite a few times in the last 25 years where we faded down the stretch and lost our spot. We were either in the auto spot and faded and fell into the playoff lottery, or we had a playoff spot and fell off. I hope the supporters that went through those years aren't feeling a sense of deja vu. Not time to panic yet, but hopefully this was a wake up call to realize nothing is sewn up yet.

Seen all those days Mich and it ain't nice so I certainly don't want to see it again. With the points we have on the board it is difficult to be critical however I maintain that I have yet to see real convincing, outplaying the opposition type football despite us getting the points.

I also have been through the pain of the well documented occasions when we fell away when in a strong position and it is very frustrating!! Like you Greystone I haven't seen a totally dominant display this season, however I've only been to home games so far. Even games where we have been well in control we have failed to rattle in the goals when we should have done.

Personally I don't think it is a lack of ability or effort. My main concern is, given we are a relatively young side, whether some of the lads have enough mental strength to manage games and see them out. I also have misgivings over the strength in depth in attack and feel the addition of another striker and, if possible, an attacking midfielder through the loan system could be helpful (? when does the loan window close?).

I agree, the current situation is a worry but, the last time we went through a 'wobble', ending with defeat at Gillingham, we then went on to win the next nine matches - I would settle for that again!

Looking at the last two matches, Shrewsbury came to defend in depth and succeeded. But for a few inches, we could well have had at least two goals, but that did not work out. The pitch at Crawley was arguably, barely up to Conference standard.

We will be up against a form team in Sheffield United, but at least the playing surface should be acceptable. That will be more of a test as to where we are!

Having seen the Crawley match 'highlights', the pitch didn't look too bad. I expected to see a lot more evidence of sand, but the view was from some distance so difficult to tell.

It's hard not to worry as we all know, we have previous.

At this stage though, I think we will get at least second.

We go on about fire power but we haven't given a decent chance to McAllinden who I would play instead of Clarke. He can head a ball and has a shot in either foot and would give us some height in the box which is needed.

Three games spring to mind for me, Colchester United away, Tranmere at home and Gillingham at home, all where Wolves were in control of the game. The one stand out game of the season though, and based on the first 45 minutes where Wolves dominated and impressed me was the recent one at Swindon Town, total football.

It has been said that Wolves have only turned up in many games for one half. Fans are often critical, but the points taken at the end are what counts. I do feel, and judging Wolves from the Swindon secon
