Wife is running it this year, leaving tomorrow. Anyone run it before?

Not run it myself, but I have coached a few that have.
I am a bit concerned about the late arrival of your wife ref. the time change.
We normally say with athletes who are changing time zones, that it takes a day for every hour difference, to acclimatize.
However, I have known cases where people arrive a few hour before and perform ok.
Some athletes change their body clock by gradually changing their sleep patterns before they travel so their body is working on the time of the country they go to.
I hope the lady wife enjoys the experience, the crowds are fantastic.
Thanks mates. Abbo, she's taking time off work, so it is what it is. She's far from a serious competitor. Her goal is to finish the race inside the allotted time and collect the medallion to add to her growing collection of them.
It's an enjoyable hobby for her, if a bit of an expensive one. I can hardly complain about that given my motorcycling addiction.![]()
I ran a half marathon around the old Milwall ground back in the seventies as a result of been chased by both sets of fans after the game!
Robus, I see from the Baggies board that your wife finished the race, well done to her. When she gets back, I would be pleased to hear any feed back from her, ref her time, the course, the crowds and London. Hope you can find the time to post.

Give her my hearty congratulations, Robus, she is a great lady!
Congratulations to your young lady, one of my mates completed the course in 3hrs 55mins today.
Thanks all, and thanks for asking Abbo. Don't know her time but I'm sure it was pretty slow. She was knackered as you say by the end of it. Temperatures were in the low 60s by the time she finished, whereas most of her training was done in 20s or below. Said the crowds were amazing and the people along the way incredibly nice. She would like to go back for a visit next summer, the two of us. We were last in the UK nearly 20 years ago. If it happens, we may find a way up to the West Midlands...
She has a day to kick around London tomorrow then back here on Tuesday. I suggested the British Museum and Kew Gardens if she's not too stiff in the legs to enjoy it. I'll pump her for more information when she gets home.
