    Managers.

Are obviously a hot topic on here. I was thinking if we made the change who would I go for but would a successful lower league manger be just as good? To mange a top flight team should you have played top flight or already have the experience? By having this mind set do clubs like us miss the opportunity to have a fresh and successful manager because the trend is to go with what we know? Managerial skills must be transferable league to league. The game must still be the same, it's just the personnel and expectations that are different. The rules are the same and being tactically aware is surely not harder as you climb the leagues, it is after all just a game of football!

Imo anyone who manages people has to first earn their respect. In football it's more likely a player at Man United, for example, will immediately have more confidence in , say, a proven winner like Jose Mourinho than a David Moyes.

That is not to say Moyes could not earn the respect, but he starts nearer the bottom of the ladder which obviously makes the job harder, particularly if things don't immediately fall into place. After all it's easier to blame someone else for your own failings!! Just listen to managers' post match comments if you don't believe that.

Who would I go for if I ran West Ham? Someone who has a track record of building teams without the benefit of a huge budget. That track record would be in one of the 3 or 4 major european leagues.

A David Moyes, for our club, would be a good choice for example. My personal choice would be Unai Emery, currently head coach at Sevilla or Lucien Favre at Borussia Monchengladbach.

And, yes, I've come over to the SA out group t

    Whisky, lets be realistic!!!

Non of the managers mentioned would 'want' to come to our club at the moment.

It now seems though that Moyes is available from this morning.

Unfortunately the owners have set out their stall and nothing is going to change their policy this season.

Surely a footballer should be able to grasp and get on board with a managers principals and philosophy's without looking down their nose at them? Respect has to be earnt in any walk of life but people also need to be given the chance to to earn it.

I agree with you. However I did say "If I was in charge at West Ham".

Under those circumstances managers would be beating a path to my door.

I would be happy for you to run my campaign. Perhaps you would care to start the ball rolling with a generous wedge.
