Interesting question Brian*, even though there's no real answer. It was something that was sort of touched on in a topic on our board, where I replied to a post from Mr dam617. He hasn't answered my questions over there, maybe he will on here.

DURRR! Because that's what football fans do. Football fans of all clubs. Have you forgotten how you laughed at Derby as "the worst team in history" when you were two divisions below them? That's rammed your smiley face right back up your ****!

Has to be them on that basis. They looked certainties for demotion, but now have given themselves hope.

As for us, making the play-offs would be a welcome shock indeed, but the play-offs is not the final determinant. It's only a bridge, and teams that reach there must cross the bridge to the Prem.

So if we reach play-offs v Notts League 1 stay - Notts L1, the greater shock.

But if we reach play-offs and then go all the way v Notts L1, then ours the bigger shock.

Because we had so many injuries, a sacking, a poor run, abject displays, destiny taken out of our hands. To overcome all this and then have to get past the 3rd placed side and then beat in-form Wigan. This is like some Ian Fleming novel.

Ok dreaming over, let's get back down to earth.

I can understand your bitterness, being a total failure is hard to swallow. Chin up, you have another mug taking over soon after his freebie in Brazil. Nice to know he has his priorities right.
