    ticking time bomb,

Although how wonderful this championship league is the football clubs that play in it can't continue to spend 6% more than their income on wages, sooner or later clubs in the league will hit the wall or wealthy owners will lose patience and walk away us included, i find these figures astonishing i'm imagining that the high wage bills is down to clubs paying to get in the prem, we need premier league football sharpish or we may be stuck here playing championship football or worse, we can make it this year can we?.

Of course, Notts balances the books brilliantly, RT doesn't have to put a penny into the coffers and NCFC do not owe him a penny.

    Oh hang on a min

I think some punctuation and grammar would make it possible to actually read it!

I'll have to send you for some lessons with Tricky's old mate, if this continues.

There there, lad, don't get sad. I've always got time for you.

To answer your question, the best way to actually get to the Prem is to spend really big - that is 1 big lump sum for 1 season, not putting 1/4 here, 1/2 there each season and hope it can add up. (Something Doughty did, he ended up spending millions with no end result)

This is of course a huge risk, but if you can buy quality and the correct players and pa

    re: ticking time bomb,

A ticking time bomb it certainly is! the Championship imo is the most exciting league in the world & I would love to see my club competing in it, the one downside is that you are only one step away from the gold mine that is the Prem. This means that owners tend to throw stupid money in their quest to reach the promised land, great if they succeed but potentially disastrous if they fail, football fans are an impatient bunch, but personally I would rather see a steady improvement than a **** or bust approach that could leave long term repercussions, sorry for intruding on your board but this is a honest answer from a genuine fan.
