Thorne
Said from the start this move wouldn't happen.
Still think the same.
It concerns me that so much optimism is being pinned to this guy. If it doesn't work and we don't get him then it's a real downer, a big negative.
We can do without another Ferrie Bodde saga hijacking the summer to be honest. Thorne is good but he's not the only player out there. If he hadn't played the last 10 games of last season we wouldn't even know who he is.
But we can't write off that he did play for us and did so very successfully. He showed how the central defensive midfield role could be played and the limitations of John Eustace in that role.
Its worth being prepared to be patient and trust that our management will be able to find a replacement if we are not able to get Thorne to Derby.
The only way our interest could be negative is if we wait too long , still miss out on him, and in the process miss out on other players who could do a job for us.
