    Dunne and Poke

Pompey have signed midfielder James Dunne and goalkeeper Michael Poke.

Dunne, 24, joins from Stevenage and has penned a two-year deal at Fratton Park, with the option of an extension.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at St Johnstone and was part of the side that beat Dundee United to lift the Scottish Cup.

Poke, 28, has signed a two-year deal after leaving relegated Torquay.

Blues boss Andy Awford said: “James is a player that I’ve admired for the last 18 months and enjoyed a very successful spell in Scotland last season.

Ive watched him play on a few occasions and am delighted that he’s agreed to join us – especially as there were clubs from higher leagues interested in him.

Michael is a good all-round goalkeeper, who will come in and provide decent competition.

Dunne progressed through the ranks at Arsenal, but left the Gunners without making a senior appearance.

He then spent three seasons with Exeter before joining Stevenage in the summer of 2012 and scori

Sounds like a couple of 18th century "rakes".

Happier that we have a second keeper. Thought the Adder might have to play a half at WLP

Heard some good things about Dunne. Sounds to me like a more defensive minded version of Wes Fogden but does like to strike them from distance occasionally.
