    McCall in the dark

A number of media sources today carry the story that SM did not know about Henri Anier being sold and that the money coming in will not be given to him. He is trying to get a striker in on Angier's wages and possibly a loanee centre half from Down South (although you have to think Ramsden, Reid and Cummins should be sufficient if we cannot get one).
While the manager not knowing about the sale is poor and begs a question about internal communications and his relationship with the board/new general manager, I remain impressed by his upbeat spirit. He has a very positive “let’s get on with it“ attitude and I think we are fortunate to have him as our manager. A good guy.

Not sure about that. SM was quoted a few days ago saying that he had been lining up possible replacements for some time.

Paper P1sh I don't believe for one minute , no matter how p1ss poor our communications can sometimes be, that McCall didn't know Arnier was being sold . Apparently the sale took a bit of ping pong discussion so I fail to see how that could be happening and he didn't know. That would also suggest that Arniers agent doesn't talk to him and Arnier doesn't talk to MCCall all too far fetched for my mind. The fact that he won't see a penny of it should hardly come as a surprise to him or anyone else.

    re: McCall in the dark

I am keen to put this to bed very quickly for obvious reasons...

The first contact we had re: Henri's transfer was the evening of Friday 6th June.

The manager knew about it the next day and was kept updated all the way through the discussion process (despite being in the USA). He also spoke to the player concerned prior to his move being finalised and announced on the 19th June.

I think what Stuart was alluding to was the fact that the transfer/offer came out the blue (which it did) and he wasn't expecting to have to replace Anier during the summer.

Big thanks Flow, next time the unhappy unhappy club moan about lack of communication, we should think of how many other senior staff of SPL clubs would come onto a fans website to clarify media inaccuracies

Don't suppose SM is working on Jimmy Rodriguez, tidy wee player from Colombia...
