Thread: USA World Cup

    USA World Cup

it's been awhile my Pompey friends but I would like to say that throughout the years while listening to PalTalk VPE many of you have told me that the MLS was a sh*t league but look who has moved on while your countrymen are flying home. I LOVE POMPEY but today all I ask is for a little respect. The USA and the MLS are better than you think...

The one good thing about them doing well is hearing the USA USA... chant

Have to agree with Mich. I went to see Vancouver Whitecaps (Manager Carl Robinson, late of this parish) v Seattle Sounders, and was pleasantly surprised by the standard, and very impressed with the atmosphere. 21000 present, including about 1000 visitors, and it was LOUD. Added bonus was getting (real) beer delivered to our seats during the game.

Yep the Yanks are a good addition for world football. Their chant of "I believe we will win" however is piss poor. Ground to be made up in the area of crowd banter methinks.

Agreed, but I think 'the Referee sucks' has a tad more class than 'the referee's a w****r'

Whilst the wording is quite clearly rubbish and has nasty religious overtones running through it, I do like the way it's chanted with the jumping option.
