Morning lads, West Brom fan, just wanna wish you the best of luck this season. Everyone knows you are probably in the top 5 best fans in the country, so hopefully you will get yourself out of this league.
The another reason i'm making this post is every year i enter this competition that a friend runs.
So i don't waffle on too much basically he splits all 4 leagues into sections.
He uses the bookies odd,s in what they think for the season ahead .E.g the favourites in 1 section, then the next 4-6 teams that they favour for the play offs, midtable teams, then of course the teams who are going to struggle.
He releases this competition next week sometime. You get 3 points for the win and 1 point per goal your team scored. So in your choices your looking for the best team but the 1s who score aswell.
I am sure i can work out what the choices will be for the top section.
Portsmouth
Bury
Shrewsbury
Luton
I am wondering what you guys think who your choice would be from those 4. I

All I can tell you is the feel good factor is strong around here. Awford is a bit of a legend and a polished turd would be better loved than Barker who thankfully had moved on to pastures browner.
The squad is larger with several positions strengthened notably the lad Storey from Swindon on a years loan which has angered a lot of Robins fans. Also some of last seasons better loans have been signed up, a better keeper and one or two local players picked up from non league, one in particular showing genuine promise.
Most would be surprised if the play offs as a minimum target was not achieved.
Hi Jon
From those four I would pick Bury. They seem strongly fancied this season so must have made some good signings as last season they struggled nearly as much as us. Luton will have the feelgood factor and it is not unknown for promoted sides to leapfrog this division. Of the relegated sides I expect Tranmere to be up there. As you will know however this division is almost impossible to predict.
With regards to us we were favourites last year based I think soley on size of club and without taking into consideration the turmoil PFC had been in for the past 5/6 seasons. I think it would be fair to say the new management team struggled initially with poor management choices and so did the players, especially at home. For me I would be delighted with a play-off place and another visit to Wembley.
Finally, being Midlands based I used to really look forward to my visits to the Hawthorns - fantastic atmosphere, great fans, my favourite Midlands club by far. Although unfortunately some
Hi lads thanks for your reply very much appreicated. I was 100% sure someone would reply based on what i know from Portsmouth fans lol.
You lost 3-0 was it yesterday and you had a full team out. Is that a worry?
Anything you worry about in terms of strength and depth?
I did fancy Bury because Ryan Lowe even though he's getting on im sure he will get 20-25 goals this season.
Do you mind me pasting my compeition on here probably on Friday so i can get your ideas and feedback please. As i don't think i can get your email address on here to send too?
What's your outside tip this season?
Mines AFC Wimbledon, keep your eyes on them, they were 3 favs to go down few weeks ago but the odds been chopped. Tubbs And Akinfenwa upfront. Jack Hunt in defence is a good piece of business too.
have a good days lads anymore responses would be good![]()
Well Knightsie on Express yesterday said pre match that he was concerned that our defence hadn't been tested yet...It has now Knightsie good call.
We were 3-0 down before Ertl..no more goals after he came on.
I've just revised my play off prediction.
Playing a string of poor sides pre-season is a bad idea. Win against them and there is no confidence boost, lose and confidence is lost. It's a lose-lose situation. Please can we have Real and Bayern next pre-season.
Edit: Sorry, back on topic.![]()
Southend or Northampton are my long shots.
Thanks again Lads much appreicated.
Why Southend of Northampton what's attracting you to those?
Anyone got any tips in this Division or any other?
Someone should tell you that Corkhead is from the Isle of Wight.
Havent changed my mind that Pompey will finish in the top 3. Awfs will have to tighten up the defence and where the goals will come from is a worry similar to what Gun posted before on another thread. Bury and Northampton will be around the top for me. I think Carlisle will struggle. Time will tell
