It's a wee bit like being brought round by CPR when you have died, I expect we would all be grateful for such a chance...it's a real pity it happened to be Celtic though.Originally Posted by bheron

Celtic are reinstated in the Champions league. It is an embarrassment that a team that is beaten 1-6on aggregate would even consider accepting this. How much lower can Scottish football sink ?.![]()

Why on earth would they not accept it? No one would turn it down!
It looks like I am alone in thinking the way I do, but if Motherwell were reinstated to ANY competition I would refuse to go to any of the games. You get thrashed 1-6 and get through because a player was on the park for 4 MINUTES !!!. As Gordon Strachan said during the Word Cup "There is no honour in football"
I agree no one would turn this down but big question for me is who noticed it. When they played st pats and he was not on squad list surely uefa if it was them should have informed them he still has a 3 game ban as not on list why wait until after the 4th game to say those previous games do not count because if it was uefa as i said someone must have noticed after the st pats game that they made a mistake so why not point it out to them and say the ban is still 3 games. On the other hand we all know how good the celtic legal squad is as they try to get people off with everything so could it have been them that brought it to uefas attention and if so that smells of bad sportsmanship but im sure it will never be revealed. I have to decide whether uefa are so corrupt that they would sit and wait to see if legia made the error after noticing player was not listed in previous tie rather than point out the problem or did celtics legal team pick up on it and inform uefa the jury is out.
Celtic are emphatic they had nothing to do with this.
I am no lover of Celtic but there is no way that they wouldn't accept being reinstated back into the Champions League at the play off round. If they win the play off round (and I'm not saying they will), reaching the group stage of the competition will earn their club millions. I doubt any side would say no to reinstatement, whatever the circumstances. Legia made the error and this is the price they have to pay.
You mean like us not accepting avoiding relegation our league position merited because Falkirk didnt have 10,000 seats.Originally Posted by bheron

Well you shouldnt have been going for years as we stayed in the SPL based on a rule not the performance.
What is all this pish about not accepting re-instatement and that UEFA or Celtic are in any way responsible?
LEGIA WARSAW ARE 100% RESPONSIBLE!
The player was suspended for 3 games which was fulfilled with the 2 St.Patrick's games and first Celtic game.
The numpties then used him as a substitute for the final few minutes of the 2nd Celtic game at Murraylfield despite the fact THEY HAD NOT REGISTERED HIM WITH UEFA IN THEIR SQUAD FOR THE CELTIC TIE!
END OF STORY!!!
I am as fair play minded as they come but for BHeron to suggest that reinstatement should not be accepted under those circumstances is beyond belief and frankly pish.
I only wish my beloved Motherwell I've been supporting for 60 years had the same chance, but if this close and pre season is anything to go by, we would mess that up too!
