Happy New Year! Ross Barkley Could Be Out For Five Months

    :/

Manager gives worrying update on Ross Barkley's injury.

During his post-match comments, the Everton boss said Ross Barkley could miss up to five months.

While scans on Ross Barkley's injured knee are not yet back, Everton head coach Roberto Martinez is already preparing fans for possible bad news. Martinez was asked about Barkley following the Toffees' opening day draw against Leicester City, and the Blues' boss said the star midfielder could be out as much as five months.

However, it is important to stress that this remains speculation from Martinez based on what the medical staff has told him, but it certainly doesn't make us feel any better. Losing Barkley is a major blow to the Everton midfield, especially if he's forced out until after the new year.

Not at all. We have a whole blanket of offensive midfield cover but it's a setback for club and player.

Also Bobby knows what he's talking about when it comes to injuries and duration. Qualified physio he is you know. And every time he's guesstimated in an interview about a player coming back he's not been far wrong.
