    This Criticism Of Valencia

Right. Cards on the table. I haven't seen him play yet so I haven't a scooby if he's the dog's wotsits or another f_ucking Andy Carroll. But the criticism the bloke's getting is over the bloody top imo.

Arsenal have signed Alexis Sanchez whi I've seen a lot of on the box over the years as, I'm sure, most posters here have. In his first games for Arsenal he's looked very average. But we all know he's a top quality player. He's proved it with Barca where he's won CL medals.

He's playing with better players than Valencia and playing in a better side. A much better side. But he has still looked pretty poor to date.

I guess you can see where I'm coming from. For those who can't the season's 2 games old ffs.

I think people are being a little hasty, but when you've seen a player you can't help but have a first impression - only time tells whether they are well founded or not.

The price is bound to raise the level of expectation also but in my opinion you need to compare - Shane Long cost 12m, McCormack around 11m - without seeing a ball kicked would anyone want either of them over Valencia?

I watched Enner Valencia at the world cup and he certainly looked ordinary. He missed a couple of decent chances and made the wrong decisions in a couple of instances.
These things tend not to impress. So I was underwhelmed when he was purchased, for a fee of 14 million.

The club however took a different view. They reasoned that a forward who scored 3 times at the world cup and 18 times in 23 appearances for his club was worth the fee.
I have no idea of the standard in the Mexican league but you don't find many other clubs shopping in it.

Firstly mate it's a West Ham forum and our summer signing's are going to be discussed on here.

Secondly many have been quick enough to make a positive judgement based on first impressions after seeing Zarate, Kouyate & Cresswe

That's a very good point but that amount of money was also enough to purchase Bony, Benteke or Coutinho so it depends how you spend it.

Let's just hope he turns out well in the long run because Allardyce previous £10m+ transfers have not been great value imo.

Where have I said no one should be allowed to comment?

All I'm saying is that saying a bloke had a poor game is one thing, writing him off as a waste of money, or a massive error of judgment after one full game is something else.

I doubt if any of us had even heard of him before the WC, never mind seen him and yet here we are, not even in September, and some people seem to have found a new potential hate figure to fill the void while Nolan's out of the side.

Which, imo, has nothing to do with not wanting people to post an opinion.

Be lucky. Chill out and have a quick beer. And while you're at it check your stats. I'd guess Poyet has played almost as much, if not more, than Valencia.

Hmm, I thought it was another one of DS buys ,also I'm sure it was the Mexican president who decided the fee not us or BFS.

I could be wrong though !

From what I have seen of him so far for us is that he's better than Carroll purely down to the fact he's fit for selection.

I am so far happy with all our summer signings and our team, we have just got to install some confidence back in to our club instead of all this negatively we have surrounding it all the time.

Whisky, I think it's you that has been on the beer mate.

It has got nowhere near hatred, just observations.

He played and scored against England prior to the world cup so I've seen him play 5 times as have most people. I've seen Poyet play once due to the fact that I've not seen Charlton play i
