I can't think of any other reason why we'd lose to Newport.

tbh ,you cant blame corky. We were lack lustre and i felt we were set up wrong from the outset. Wrong personnnel started the game, and the ref was a disgrace.
Bloody corky! ;(
I cant argue with that. We only really created 1 real chance each half which we put wide. However re Corky this happens every time he attends. Best he stays in Warwickshire or in the Cafe Rouge (todays posh venue).
A few things to take from today. 1stly Big Nige IMO should've started, we badly missed his passing & guile. 2ndly Holmes had a complete mare I thought, looked lightweight throughout & didn't bother to bust a gut for that through pass 2nd half. I'd have taken him off @ HT. 3rdly Jed is no wingback, he needs to be further forward-he's having to run from the pen area @ times, we need him in the opposition half asap. 4th as much as I like the job Taylor does as i've said before he lacks anticipation & today was no exception.
I'm absolutely loath to criticize Andy, he's been superb thus far but today the subs should've happened @ HT IMO. Or @ the very least by 55mins.
Thought we looked lethargic & lacked cohesion which we must find because plenty more teams will come & do that @ FP.
There were so many things wrong today.
I believe that we have the biggest squad in the league yet could not beat a team that has won just 4 games in the last 30
Firstly we have Stikers who cannot strike.
We were again saved (almost)by our keeper.
Hollands had a mare,is he the same player who played so well last season.
Holmes should be left winger, not playing behind the 2 strikers.
I just don't "get" Taylor,or the role Andy has given him.
Ok Newport were very physical, but everyone knew this would be the case before the game.
We should've been able to rise above Newport and beaten them with skills.
Now all teams will know how to play against us at FP
AND FFS what a soft goal to concede.
I am fuming...we could and should have been top tonight.
The only positive from today is that we now know that we are a mediocre side and play offs will be a result.
Roll on Burton on Sunday,Ships Anson for me for that game.

Formation didnt work from the first minute, Taylor who is a proper old school centre forward was too deep. Holmes was totaly wasted playing behind the front two, he's a wide man. Taylor and Westcarr are not a partnership. Shorey was left totaly exposed and if there manager had anything about him they would have attacked him at every chance as their right sided player had him for pace. Awford needs to stop trying to be clever put the players in their proper positions and we will go up,if he keeps thinking hes some sort of tactical genious we wont.
Ref was **** but at least in this league you are allowed to tackle robustly
Morning gents. Now you had better believe in the awesome force of the Jonahfication factor although, even I, must confess to being overawed by its power in this instance. For added potency I avoided the A34 and Chiz's barricade, thus missing the obligatory piss-stop at Sutton Scotney and changed the regulation pre-match meal in the OCH opting instead for the over-priced and poncey Cafe Rouge (not recommended). All my pre-match superstitions went out of the window (yes, even not having my underpants on the wrong way round!). That bought the Mocker-Effect into warp factor three and ensured a performance on a par with last season at its worse. Apologies, but it had to be done to show you what you are dealing with.
As for the game it has all been expressed accurately above. The perseverance of the inane and naive tactic of trying to play the game to NC's strengths by lumping the ball forward at every opportunity beggered belief. It was almost as if we tried to match their physicality in a
Your description of the Cafe Rouge is very true. Not a venue I shall be returning to, my turn for the coffee though when you return South.
