It was slightly diluted SD but due to injuries the manager was forced to play a strong side, and we still beat them rather easily despite making 6 changes ourselves.
Makes you wonder what our strongest XI actually is.
Anybody know if that was a decent Yeovil team tonight or did they put out the kids?
Good win away from home if the former

Anyone know how Nick Awford played ? Good or bad i mean.
Thought it was a good all round performance.
Ertl was very steady in the back 4 and Awford was ok if still showing obvious signs of inexperience.
With teams having Squads I don't aspire to the old weakened teams argument either. Yeovil took the game to us 1st half had chances didn't convert.
2nd half was a turnaround. Wallace took both his goals nicely after some slick interpassing & movement that was missing on Sat and then Westcarr neatly lobbed the goalie following a nice pass over the top of the defence.
Stand out for me were the long cross field passes from right to left especially in the 2nd half to Storey. he showed good first time touch control and movement.
Had the Yeovil back 4 all over the place.
Wish they had played like that Sat I'd rather have had the 3 points.

I will always call it the "Junk Cup" and I too would have much preferred 3 points

I didnt understand the line up against Newport. The team against Yeovil was far better(not aftertiming, i said it to my nephew before the game) and Awfs needs to understand that Holmes and Chorley are not 1st choices. Well done to the boys anyway, but we need a result saturday now.
Yes ,I hope the result of the Newport game was a timely reminder to Awfs that he needs to think about his team selections rather than just sticking square pegs in round holes.
Ps ,I am still not convinced that Jonny Ertl couldnt make a good old fashioned centre forward...kind of a Ron Saunders type.
I hope we get a result Sunday. See you around Noon ScullyOriginally Posted by Mangosmate
