(C) for me.
Would you;
A.) Close Wembley and reinvest the money?
B.) Keep Wembley but allow FA Cup Semi Finals and play off games to be played nationally?
C.) As for B but also play all England Friendlies around English grounds?
(C) for me.
If I ran the FA, it would be clean out of town !
(C) for me and try to pay the bills by bringing back the horse of the year show.
If I ran the FA I'd get rid of the GLCT
Just for a laugh.![]()
If I ran the FA, I'd be too busy excepting brown envelopes and ligging all expenses paid junkets to far off places to be all the mithered about Wembly.
I don't think B and C are even legitimate options. They've either got to sell it off or play all their games there, it's the only way they can fund it.
In my current 'couldn't give a monkeys about the England team' mode, I'd say sell it off and play the games elsewhere. If they want to play any games in London then Arsenal's is plenty big enough, or even the Olympic stadium.
If I ran the FA I'd stick Brendan Rodgers in charge of the team on a part time basis, let's face it it's not a full time job. And games to be played at Anfield, Old Trafford, and Man City's ground (which I forget the of right now!)
The Etihad.
You're welcome.
Keep Wembley. It makes more sense to give the team a sense of "home" so give them one ground in the capital in which all games are played.
Friendly:
England v Norway
attendance: 40,081
And that was the smallest attendance for an England game at Wembley in the last 16 years. It just goes to show how big the gates at Wembley usually are, in spite of the fact that ticket prices are far too high for a lot of fans. For the San Marino game, they should charge adults 10 pounds and let kids in for free.
I was in the big crowds for the recent games v Poland, Germany & Peru. I couldn't make it last night as I was busy but I'll be there for the Slovenia game. From a purely selfish point of view, I wouldn't want a lot of England games to be played up north.
It is a pity that cup semi-finals have to be played at Wembley, as it makes finals seem less special but the FA have to cover the cost of building the stadium somehow.
I remember when Arsenal used to play their Champions League games at Wembley because Highbury wasn't big enough. A lot of money could have been saved if England played at the Emirates too or had a shared st
