    spuds in new stadium panic.

So, if I've got this right.

    - spuds plan to build a new ground up the road from WHL.
    - they can't because one metalworks business refuses to up sticks and relocate (too bloody right).
    - spuds can't do a pompey and make them bust without batting an eyelid.
    - accordingly their compulsory purchase order has been scotched.

But let's just say that they do manage to get permission to build, somewhere.

    - they will have to groundshare somewhere for at least one season.
    - every London club has told them to do one.
    - so have Wembley, Twickenham, the Oval and the owners of the Hoofers new public funded ground.
    - Only franchise have opened their arms to the incoming revenue (shock horror) .

Sounds like Daniel Levy is out of favours in all directions.

    The heart bleeds! .

Delighted that their plans have hit the buffers and that a local business has won the battle (if not the war).
My mate had to up sticks and find new business premises when Brentford's planning application was greased through the process. Nothing available, suitable or affordable east of Ealing. :/

    Would they dare ask Arsenal????

Any of you lot go to Anfield last season? I was there in March and taken for a 'tour' of the area by my Scouse mates. There's another ground move in a poor state. Loads of people moved out of homes so they can be knocked down except some refuse to move. You're left with some horrific looking streets of boarded up homes and a couple still being used. Amazes me that people would still live there with streets in that state but it's a principle I guess (probably Evertonians).

Been there a few times. First time round we got a point there and Kerry Dixon scored for us!

Still, I'll be visiting the new stadium when it happens. 10/10 for appeasing the locals by designing their retractable roof with the immediate surrounding area in mind.

Hope I'm wrong but I can't see past greedy and desperate Spuds doing a deal with the greedy and desperate FA.

So a season at Wembley then.

Surely they could share with WH at the old Olympic stadium?
It's amazing how big famous clubs seem to suffer with trying to build new grounds and yet lessers can erect a flatpack willie nillie.

Well it's better than pi55ing away the money you had, and even money you didn't have. When the next generations look west to what could have been! Still when they hear their old man's tales of the cup they cheated their future for I'm sure they will be happy watching L2 in a conference ground..

Can't see WH letting them anywhere near it after the challenges to own it. That, and their isn't much love between the fans either.

No chance of it being Arsenal imo. What's left? Chelsea, seems unlikely. Most other London grounds won't be big enough to match their ego. Milton Keynes has 30k so not much difference from the current ground otherwise I can only imagine Wembley. I don't like the idea of a club side at Wembley but the FA seems desperate for cash to pay for it.

I wrote the OP having read a full page article in the Evening Standard. Literally every option was giving spurs the Spanish archer bar franchise. Another suggested was to borrow Upton park after the hoofers have moved but even that was flawed.

Maybe Levy should draw up plans for a huge harbour dome or an Atlantis style underwater ground!

Arguably just what they probably need. No-one's in a rush to do Levy any favours, he's burnt many a bridge. If new owners took control I bet you'll find one or two of those aforementioned closed options opening their doors.
